Week 6: BYE WEEK

After the beat down of the Bears, last Sunday in London, the Raiders got the week off. They even got the week off of practice, since Grudawg was so god dang proud. Gruden said he’s “56 years old and that’s the most fun I’ve ever had”. Can’t blame him for feeling that way, after trading away the Raiders arguably best player last season, then completely dominating him after all the talk of how stupid he was. Well, not so fast, people! Gruden clearly knows what he’s doing. This team is a million times better than they were last year at this point. Give it time, we will be great.

Back this bye week. It’s been a damn good one for the Raiders. Chargers lose to Steelers, Chiefs lose to Texans, and Raiders are just a half game out of first place. Gruden also made a move trading a 2021 6th round pick to the Buffalo Bills for Zay Jones. Jones was an early 2nd round pick in 2017 and hasn’t quite lived up to what Buffalo thought he could be. But in Jones’s media session Tuesday he said “I thought I did what I was supposed to do and did it well, I can’t control the targets, that’s out of my hands.” Hopefully he was doing well, and can get those targets in Oakland from Derek Carr. Gruden spent the week off trying to catch Zay up on the playbook and put him to work. I’m assuming we will get a little taste of him in Greek Bay this week, probably not too much. Gabe Jackson is back baby! He tore his meniscus in training camp and has been working hard to get back according to the Grudawg, and is looking as good as ever. So glad Gabe is back, this offensive line has been crushing it without him, and he’s arguably the best one. I expect complete domination this Sunday. Let’s get after it.
