#Raiders draft predictions.. #RaiderNation #NFLDraft #Coronavirus

What are the Raiders going to do in Thursdays NFL draft? Well, hopefully we will all be “booing” Rodger Goodell when he takes his podium in his basement…. what a disaster this has turned into.. Anyway, everyone seems to think they are no doubt going with wide reciever, so much so, I’ve seen some saying they may even double dip in the receiver spot, possibly snagging two of the consensus top three guys, which consist of Jerry Jeudy, Ceedee Lamb, and Henry Ruggs III. Not so fast, I would say, anyway. Typically, no matter who’s in charge of the Raiders, things don’t go as you would expect them to, especially come draft time. Last year, many people didn’t see Clelin Ferrell going in the top 15, Raiders took him at pick number 4 overall.

As of now, the Raiders have picks 12 and 19 in the first round, picks 80, 81, 91, in the third round, pick 121 in the fourth round, and pick 159 in the fifth round. That totals up nine picks. I don’t think they will end up with nine picks, I think they will get more. Mike Mayock has said before how much he values picks outside the first round, so whether that means giving up a first, moving around in the first, or any combination of those things, I think we will end up picking in the second round.

I’ve been think thinking about this bullshit almost every day for the past few weeks, and as cool as it would be for the Raiders to grab one of those top three wide outs early, it may not be for the best. Sure, they need help at the position, but I’m in the camp saying their defense is still much worse than the offense. Now, of course the additions of Cory Littleton and Nick Kwiatkoski at linebacker, Maliek Collins at defensive tackle, and Damarious Randall at saftey greatly improve an atrocious defense, how awesome would it be to grab some young studs on that side of the ball? Imagine having Isaiah Simmons, Jeff Okudah, or Chase Young. The defense would be throw into a completely new level. The Raiders haven’t had a defense that doesn’t give up 50 points a game in like 20 years. It’s time to start focusing less on Derek Carr, and more on that shitfuck mess of a defense we’ve had put out on the field for the past decade or two. Now, I’m not saying we should package the two firsts and try to move up, I’m just saying I wouldn’t be mad.

Honestly, the more I think about it, the less I think the Raiders will be taking Ruggs, Lamb, or Jeudy. I think they end up trading back for more picks, possibly grabbing receiver like Justin Jefferson, or Tee Higgins, a little later in the first, or early second. Possibly going defense with that first pick with a guy like C.J. Henderson, or Kenneth Murray. There’s no way of knowing, I guess we will all find out Thursday.

All I’m saying is, as long as we get any combination of literally any of the players I’ve mentioned, I’ll be content with it. Either way the team would be improving. Let’s just hope things don’t go off the rails, like we know the late great Al Davis liked to used to send things. Good luck Raider Nation, please don’t flip out when we blow it, you knew it was coming.
